10th Annual Evening of Tasting and Giving

October 6, 2014

The Carltun – Eisenhower Park, East Meadow.

At the 10th Annual Evening of Tasting and Giving, the area’s best wineries, restaurants, and bakeries come together for a great cause. This benefit raises monies for the Cancer Center for Kids at Winthrop University Hospital, The Pediatric Hematology Oncology Program at Stony Brook Hospital, and other pediatric practices. The event will be presented by the Michael Magro Foundation which is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization that is committed to serving children with cancer and their families.

Helping cancer patients through fundraising

Established in 2005 by Paul and Terrie Magro in honor of their son Michael Magro who passed away in 2004, the foundation has been a great help to hundreds of children suffering from serious illnesses. Since its beginning, the foundation has raised more than $300,000.

The fundraising efforts of the Michael Magro Foundation assist countless children and their families through a consistent and dedicated effort. In many ways, they deeply touch the lives of children suffering from cancer by providing transportation, meals, groceries, and other necessities to the families in need. Some of the donations that will be given to the children at the event include arts and crafts supplies, stuffed animals, gaming systems, toys, and DVDs.

The event is set to take place on October 6th and will be located at The Carltun at Eisenhower Park, 1899 Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow. To contact the event heads for more information, interested attendees can place a call to (516) 935-4510. Admission will be set at $75 per person and all event proceeds will be donated. The event will feature an evening dedicated to the cause including live events and raffles which will benefit the pediatric practices.
